Description
Home Farmhouse is a farmhouse, now a house, dating from the early 18th century. It is built from coursed limestone and ironstone rubble, topped with a gabled concrete tile roof. The building features stone ridge and end stacks with mid to late 19th century brick flues. It has a three-unit lobby-entry plan, is two storeys high with an attic, and has a three-window range.
The front of the house includes an 18th century flat brick arch over a 19th century plank door. Stone steps lead up to an 18th century plank door with strap hinges that opens into a first-floor room on the right, which is likely a granary. There are timber lintels over a 19th century two-light casement window above the door, with small lights to the left and 20th century casements. At the rear, there is a similar lobby doorway and an 18th century two-storey wing with a stone finished in brick stack to the left.
Inside, the farmhouse features stop-chamfered beams and a stop-chamfered bressumer over the central open fireplace.
