Description
Woodman's Cottage is a former vicarage, now a house, dating from the early 18th century. It is built of squared and coursed limestone with a stone-coped concrete tile roof and brick end stacks. The building has a two-unit plan with a rear outshut and stands two storeys high, featuring a symmetrical five-window range. The windows and the 20th-century door are topped with keyed stone lintels, and there is a 20th-century gabled dormer.
Inside, the first floor has chamfered beams and an ovolo-moulded doorframe leading to the rear. It also contains early 18th-century or possibly 17th-century plank and ribbed doors with their original fittings, as well as quarter-turn stairs. The attic features a 17th-century plank door with strap hinges and a four-bay collar-truss roof supported by butt purlins.
