Description
Manor Farmhouse is a farmhouse built around 1720 for the Brangwin family. It is constructed from coursed limestone rubble, featuring ashlar quoins and dressings, and has a gabled concrete tile roof with late 19th-century brick end stacks. The building has a central-staircase plan and stands two storeys tall with an attic, presenting a symmetrical five-window facade.
Stone steps lead up to a mid-18th-century six-panelled door, which is set in a raised architrave and topped with an early 18th-century segmental hood. The late 18th-century six-pane sash windows have keyed and raised architraves, and there is a two-light chamfered stone-mullioned cellar window to the right of the door. The house also features two 20th-century gabled roof dormers. At the rear, there is an 18th-century six-panelled door and six-pane sashes, along with an 18th-century two-storey range to the left made of stone ashlar, also with a gabled concrete tile roof and a brick end stack.
The 18th-century rear wing, which is set into the hillside, is constructed from limestone rubble and has a gabled corrugated iron roof. Inside, the farmhouse includes cased beams and a fine early 18th-century dog leg staircase with a landing, featuring turned balusters set on a closed string.
