Description

Holmleigh is a house located in Middle Barton, with a datestone above the door that reads W/WD/1728. The building is constructed from coursed limestone rubble and features a stone-coped Welsh slate roof with stone end stacks. It has a two-unit plan and stands two storeys high, presenting a two-window range. The front has flat stone arches over a 19th-century plank door and 20th-century casements. At the rear, there is a stair-turret with a one-light window. To the right, there is a mid-19th-century service bay made of similar materials but with brick dressings, along with mid-19th-century brick outshuts at the back. Inside, there is a chamfered beam on the left and a cased beam on the right. The left side also features 18th-century cupboard doors, and there is an 18th-century plank door leading to the winder stairs that ascend to the attic.
