Description
Manor House, originally dating from the 14th century but mainly from the mid-18th century, is located at 77 High Street in Irchester. The building features squared coursed limestone and ironstone at the rear, with a rendered front facade and a slate roof. It was likely originally a hall house and has a double-depth plan.
The structure is two storeys with an attic and has an entrance front that includes a three-window range of sashes with glazing bars on the first floor. On the ground floor, there is a tripartite sash window to the right and an early 20th-century square wooden bay with an attached porch to the left and centre. The central entrance is a six-panel door with a moulded wood surround and an arched fanlight with glazing bars. There are three hipped roof dormers, and the gable ends feature ashlar gable parapets and ashlar stacks.
The right gable has a tall blocked window opening from the 14th century and a small blocked fire window to the left. At the rear, there are two large casement windows under wood lintels, along with two similar blocked openings. Although the interior was not inspected, it is noted to have an early 19th-century staircase with stick balusters.
