Description

Blacksmiths Cottage is a house dating from the late 18th century. It is constructed of regularly coursed limestone with a brick gable and a plain-tile roof added in the 20th century. The original layout features a two-unit plan with a through passage. The building has two storeys and a three-window range of leaded casements, some of which have been partly renewed, all set under wooden lintels. The central door, also from the 20th century, is located under a wooden lintel and there is a cellar door to the right. Brick stacks are positioned at both ends of the cottage. Inside, the room to the left of the entrance includes an open fireplace with a bressumer and spine beams.
