Description
Nos. 72 and 74 on High Street are two houses built in the early 19th century. They are constructed from squared coursed limestone and feature slate roofs. Originally, the buildings had one and two-unit plans and stand two storeys tall. Together, they form a three-window range with 19th-century casement windows, some of which have glazing bars, all set beneath wooden lintels. There are four-panel doors and 20th-century doors located between the window ranges, also under wooden lintels that are linked to the window lintels. Brick stacks are present at the ridge. The interiors were not inspected, but No. 72 is noted to have ceiling beams. These houses are included in the listing for their group value.
