Description

This late 17th and early 18th century public house, now a house, is located on the west side of High Street in Woodford. The building is constructed of squared coursed limestone with a concrete tile roof. Originally planned as two units, it now has a two-storey, two-window front. The windows are casements with glazing bars, set beneath wooden lintels. A central 20th-century door is flanked by casements with glazing bars, all under a single wooden lintel. It features ashlar gable parapets and ashlar stacks with moulded cornices at each end. A segmental carriage arch attached to the right is incorporated into the facade of the neighbouring building at No. 82. The interior of the room to the left contains an open fireplace with a bressumer and stop-chamfered spine beams with run-out stops. The building was formerly known as The Foresters Arms public house.
