Description

Two houses, Nos. 16 and 18 Church Way, were built in the late 18th century. They are constructed of regular coursed limestone with a slate roof. Originally, each house had a single or two-unit plan. The houses present a three-window facade, with casement windows with glazing bars under wooden lintels. There are two 20th-century doors between the windows. The eaves are at three different levels. No. 16 has a roof dormer. Brick stacks are located at the ridge and at the ends of the buildings. The interior of No. 16 was not inspected, but the interior of No. 18 features spine beams with run-out stops, and an open fireplace with bressumers. The houses are included on the list for their group value.
