Description
Ivy Cottage and The Old Post Office are two houses located on Collyweston High Street, dating from the early 18th century and 19th century. They are built from squared coursed limestone and feature Collyweston slate roofs. Originally, each house had a two-unit plan and they form a four-window range, showcasing 19th-century three-paned sash windows with wood lintels. The attic also has similar windows beneath hipped eaves dormers. The ground floor window to the right of the center was originally a shop window. The entrance to Ivy Cottage on the left has a part-glazed 19th-century door, while The Old Post Office on the right has two four-panel doors, all set under wood lintels. There is a central open entry that provides access to the rear, also beneath a wood lintel. The houses have brick and stone stacks at the ridge and ends, with 19th-century extensions at the rear. Inside Ivy Cottage, there is a chamfered spine beam.
