Description

The Granary, located approximately 30 metres north of The Poplars, is a granary that has been converted into an outbuilding. It dates from the mid to late 18th century and is constructed of squared coursed limestone and coursed rubble, topped with a pantile roof. The building has a rectangular plan and stands two storeys high. The ground floor features a central stable door, while the first floor has a 20th-century plank door accessed by a flight of stone steps. To the right of the doors, there is a casement window. All openings are framed with brick dressings. The gable ends have ashlar parapets and kneelers. A section of the wall to the right is made of coursed rubble and may date from an earlier period. The interior has not been inspected. The Granary is included for its group value.
