Description
The granary, located about 10 yards east of Old Manor Farmhouse, dates from the mid-17th century. It is constructed of coursed limestone rubble with ashlar dressings and features a plain stone-tiled roof with gable-end parapets. The building has two levels set on a chamfered plinth and consists of two bays.
On the main west elevation, external limestone steps to the left lead up to the granary entrance, which is located beneath a small gabled projection. This projection includes four tiers of alighting ledges and entry holes for pigeons. The doorway features a four-centred arched head, a hoodmould with returns, and a ledged and battened door. To the right of the steps, there is an inserted archway.
The north gable end has a three-light upper-level window with chamfered stone mullions, leaded lights, and a hoodmould with returns. On the ground floor of the east elevation, there is a similar window with two lights but without a hoodmould. Inside, the roof is supported by an intermediate sling-brace truss.
