Description

The Poplars is a mid-18th century farmhouse located on the north side of High Street in Titchmarsh. The building is constructed from squared coursed limestone and features slate and 20th-century plain-tile roofs, forming an L-shape plan. It stands two storeys tall, with the main front displaying a three-window range that includes 20th-century casements and a sash window in the centre of the first floor, all set beneath gauged stone heads. The central entrance consists of a six-panel, part-glazed door, also under a gauged stone head, and is topped by a 19th-century gabled hood. The building has ashlar gable parapets and kneelers, along with brick and stone stacks at both ends. The rear range mirrors the front but has a lower ridge line. The interior has not been inspected.
