Description
Newton Cottage is a house located on the north side of Titchmarsh High Street, dating from the mid-18th century. It is constructed of squared coursed limestone and features a thatched roof. The original layout was a two-unit plan, and the building stands two storeys high. The façade has a two-window range of casements with glazing bars, all set beneath wooden lintels. A central six-panel door with glazed toplights is also located under a wooden lintel, accompanied by a wooden porch. There are brick stacks at both ends of the house. At the rear, there is a range that was originally part of the outbuildings, which now forms part of the house and has a thatch roof similar to the main building. This rear section includes 20th-century garage doors to the right. The interior has not been inspected.
