Description
Number 27 Sheep Street is a house that has been converted into a shop. It dates from the 18th century and was remodeled in the early 19th century. The building is constructed from ironstone and brick, now covered in stucco, and has a slate roof. Originally, it had a two-unit plan and stands three storeys tall. The façade features a three-window range with central blind windows. The central door, added in the 20th century, has an arched head fanlight with intersecting glazing bars and a moulded dripstone above it. The ground floor has 20th-century shop windows, while the first and second floors have sash windows that decrease in height on the second floor, all featuring glazing bars. There are brick stacks at each end of the building, and evidence of an 18th-century gable can be seen on the right gable elevation. A late 19th-century extension has been added to the rear.
