Description

The Old Farmhouse is a 17th century timber-framed house featuring two bays and one and a half storeys. It has old tile roofs and leaded casements, with later single-storey wings extending at right angles from the gables and a two-storey south wing. The house forms an open courtyard facing the road. The timber framing is exposed on both the front and rear, with brick infill that is painted on the front elevation. The right-hand bay is brick faced and painted. There are two dormers and a modern porch at the central entry, which is located in front of a stack made of old thin brick with a moulded offset. Inside, the house has chamfered and stopped spine beams and a chamfered fireplace lintel. The left-hand range has been converted from an outbuilding and features queen strut trusses, while the right-hand range is constructed of brick and flint. Each range has a weatherboarded gable facing the roadside.
