25, Market Square

No. 25 Market Square is a restaurant that dates from the mid-18th century. The front is made of chequered brick, while the right gable is finished with colour-washed roughcast. It has a tiled roof with a brick-coped gable on the right and a brick chimney on the left. The building features a moulded wooden eaves cornice with modillions, and part of the roof pitch is cut away to create a balcony with plain wooden railings.

The structure is two storeys tall with an attic and consists of two bays. The first floor has barred sash windows, and the attic includes hipped dormers with moulded wooden cornices. The left dormer has a half-glazed door, while the right has paired leaded casements. The ground floor features an early 19th-century shop front with a barred wooden square bay window on the right, which has been restored in the 20th century, and a panelled door on the left. This door is set back in panelled reveals and has a marginally glazed fanlight above it, flanked by moulded pilaster strips and patera. A moulded wooden entablature runs above, breaking forward over the window.
