Description
No. 14 Market Square is a shop and offices building from the early 18th century that has been altered over time. The structure features a concealed timber frame with brick infill, now completely rendered, and is flanked by minimal pilasters on the gable wall. It has an old tiled roof with 19th-century bargeboards and a brick stack on the right side. The building is two storeys high with an attic and consists of two bays. The left-hand bay has projecting 19th-century shop fronts, while the gable features double doors set diagonally across the corner. The right side has a 20th-century shop front. The first floor has four-pane sash windows, with the right window set in a moulded architrave surround. The attic includes a large skylight, and there is a 19th-century doorcase on the far right, which has a moulded cornice and a half-glazed door.
