Description
No. 5 Market Square is a house dating from the 17th to early 18th century, forming part of a three-bay house (the third bay is part of No. 3 Market Square). It features whitewashed render over a timber frame and has an old tile roof. There is a 20th-century brick chimney on the left and a stack of thin brick on the right, which is shared with No. 1 Horn Street. The house has two storeys. The ground floor includes canted bay windows with barred lights and moulded cornices, while the first floor has three-light leaded casements. The central door is accompanied by a Royal Exchange fire insurance plaque in the left-hand bay. There is also an outshot at the rear.
