Description

Scrummies, located on Horn Street and including 2 The Walk, is a restaurant and house built in the early 18th century, with alterations and a new front added in the mid-19th century. The building features colourwashed render, with rendered band courses on the left gable and a rendered parapet at the front, which is adorned with band courses and paired brackets. The front range has an old tile roof with a coped ogee brick gable and a stack on the right, while the rear roofs are covered with slate.

The front range consists of two storeys and an attic, arranged in two bays. It has a shop front with a wooden dentil cornice supported by fluted Tuscan pilasters, and a recessed six-panel door with a rectangular fanlight to the right. The first floor is highlighted by canted bay windows featuring 19th-century sash windows with pilasters framing them. The attic includes hipped dormers that have three-light barred casements.

At the rear, there is a two-storey wing with two bays set at a slight angle, which also has canted bay windows on the ground floor. The first floor features a tripartite sash window to the right, a paired casement in the left bay, and a hayloft door with a winch opening above to the left. The central door is located in a rendered porch that has a simple cornice and parapet. Inside, some timber framing is visible.
