Description

No. 4 The Walk is a house dating from the 17th century, which was refronted in the 18th century. It features a timber frame with brick infill on the right gable, 18th-century brick on the left gable, and whitewashed render on the front. The building has a wooden eaves board and an old tile roof, with flanking external brick stacks. It is two storeys high and has two bays.

On the ground floor, there are canted bay windows with barred lights, with the left bay featuring a moulded cornice. The first floor includes 4-pane sash windows set in moulded frames. The central entrance has a 6-panel door located in a slightly projecting porch, which is topped by a rectangular fanlight. The door is surrounded by a panelled strip with roundels at the corners and has a flat wooden hood supported by cut brackets.
