Description
The Bakery is a building that combines a bakery and a house, dating from the early 17th century, with a later extension from the late 17th century. It features a timber frame construction with curved braces and brick infill, which is colourwashed on the left gable and has a rendered plinth. The roof is thatched and half-hipped on the left side, with a thin brick chimney stack located between the right-hand bays and another stack at the rear between the left-hand bays.
The building has two storeys and an attic, with barred wooden casements. The outer bays on the ground floor have early 20th-century square bay windows, while the first floor and centre bays feature 3-light casements, with the ground floor centre windows adorned with moulded wooden cornices. The right-hand window on the first floor is set in thatch, and there is a 3-light leaded dormer window in the second bay.
The central entrance has a four-panel door within a moulded surround that includes a cornice, and there are two additional doors with moulded cornices situated between the right-hand bays. At the rear, there is a late 19th-century brick service block.
