Description
The wall, statues, and ornaments in the Long Garden at Cliveden were laid out around 1896 and run parallel to the estate wall, which is made of red brick. The wall features a segmental stone bench flanked by urns. In front of this bench, there are four Italian statues representing Commedia dell Arte figures located at the corners of the paths that lead left and right. To the left, at the end of the garden, there are two stone vases with covers on pedestals, and beyond them, two large terracotta flower vases adorned with swags. To the right, at the end, there are two Italian stone statues, possibly by Bonazza, depicting Navigation and the Commandante del Mar. Along the front of the garden, there are four stone pedestals that support very large terracotta storage urns, although one urn is missing.
