Description
This barn, dating from the late 17th to 18th century, is located near Wheeler End in West Wycombe. It is a timber-frame structure with weatherboard cladding, featuring a flint and brick plinth and an old tile roof with a half hip to the left side. The barn comprises five and a half bays. A cart entry, slightly off-centre, is marked by corrugated iron doors set within a gabled projection of flint and brick. Flint and brick catslide projections extend to the right of the cart entry, and another narrower catslide projection is positioned in front of the right bay. A double door, dating from the 20th century, is present in the left end gable. The rear elevation displays cart doors and three windows. The interior has curved queen post trusses with braced tie beams and intermediate collar trusses, alongside irregular wind-bracing.
