Description

Kiln Cottage is a house dating to circa 1830. It is constructed of flint with brick dressings, features cogged brick eaves, and has a hipped tile roof. The house was originally arranged in an L-shape. It has two storeys and three bays, with paired barred wooden casement windows. The ground-floor windows have bonded segmental heads. A central half-glazed door is sheltered by a gabled timber porch, and there is a blind rendered panel above the door. 20th-century extensions match the original fabric, one at the far end of the rear wing and one set back to the right. Kiln Cottage formerly served as the foreman's house for nearby brick and tile works.
