Description
The Church of St. Mary-le-Moor is a parish church built in 1851 by Rhode Hawkins. It is constructed of flint with stone dressings and features tiled roofs with stone coped gables. The church includes a nave, a south porch, a chancel, and a small north vestry. It has offset buttresses and the west end of the nave is notable for its arched bellcote, which is corbelled out over two small trefoil arches and two lancet windows. The north side of the nave has three lancet windows, while the south side features two lancets and a two-light window with plate tracery. The south door is chamfered and located in a timber-framed porch. The chancel contains a two-light plate-traceried window and a lean-to, which was formerly a porch, on the south side, as well as triple lancets with a taller central light at the east end and a gabled vestry to the north. Inside, the church has a simple design with a large double-chamfered chancel arch and contemporary fittings and glass.
