Description
This is a barn dating from the 18th century, located to the northwest of Winchendon Hill Farmhouse. It is constructed with a timber frame and is weatherboarded, resting on a plinth made of rubble and mainly brick. The barn features old tile roofs and consists of seven bays. There is a wagon entry in the fifth bay from the north, which has a gabled porch on the west side. To the left of the porch, there is a two-bay lean-to, and to the right, it continues across the south gable elevation and returns along the east side as an open-fronted cartshed, all covered by a catslide roof. The south gable is hipped.
Inside, the five southern bays have jowl-less posts with mid-rails on the walls. The structure includes raking queen post trusses, a straight tie-beam, and wall braces. The two northern bays appear to be a later addition from the 18th century, featuring jowled posts and a queen strut and collar truss.
