Description

The stone pier, built in the 1920s by Philip Tilden, is located on the village green in Nether Winchendon. It is constructed from rubblestone with a concrete finish. The pier has a circular shape with a wider base and features a swept ball finial at the top. Embedded within the pier is a mid to late 19th-century wall letter-box made by Smith & Hawkes of Birmingham, which displays an embossed crown flanked by the letters 'V R'. This pier is situated at the center of an important group of buildings in the village.
