Description
This barn, located approximately 20 meters west of Wood Farmhouse, dates from the 17th century, with possible earlier origins, and was re-roofed in 1779. It is constructed of coursed rubble stone with ashlar quoins and features an old tile roof. The barn consists of six bays, with the third bay having projecting gabled waggon entrances at both the front and rear. The front flanking bays have brick lean-to extensions. There is a ventilation slit in the left bay and irregular later openings in the right bays, including a door for a hayloft. At the rear, there is a brick and stone lean-to. The roof trusses include tie beams, collars, and curved principal rafters, supporting a double purlin roof. One of the tie beams is dated.
