Description
This milestone, located approximately 120 meters east of the junction with Frostrow Lane in Sedbergh, dates from the later 19th century. It is made of cast iron and features a triangular shaft with a flat-faced semicircular head. The milestone is painted white, with raised black lettering that reads "SEDBERGH & HAWES / ROAD / FROSTROW / & / SOOLBANK" on the head. The left side indicates "SEDBERGH / 1 MILE," while the right side states "HAWES / 15 MILES." This milestone is one of two in the parish and is part of a series of six located in Garsdale civil parish.
