Description

This milestone, located approximately 130 meters to the west of Gillhouse Style, is likely from the early 19th century. It is made of painted stone and stands on a square base with broaches at the corners. The inscription reads "S:K/3:7½," where "S" stands for Sedbergh and "K" for Kendal. This milestone was placed along the Sedbergh to Kendal turnpike road, which was established in 1762.
