Description
Greenholme is a house dating from the late 17th century, with later additions. It is constructed of roughcast stone and has a slate roof. The building has two storeys and five bays, with the first two bays being later additions. The windows are mostly sashed, featuring vertical glazing bars and horns, while the first two bays have all glazing bars, and one first-floor window has a small-paned 20th-century casement. The ground floor has paired sashes in the third and fifth bays. The entrance, located in the fourth bay, has a half-glazed door, and there is a blocked two-light window. The house features gable-end stacks, with the right stack projecting, and a cross-axial stack. At the rear, there is a gabled wing and lean-to outshuts, along with a truncated gable-end stack. The right return also has a lean-to outshut. Inside, the property has chamfered beams, and the staircase features square newels, slender turned balusters, and a moulded handrail. On the landing, there is a re-set spice cupboard inscribed with "IW 1695," which has enriched panels and fielded panels with shaped heads. A wide-boarded door with a wood latch completes the interior details.
