Description
This building is a barn located to the south-west of High Hallbeck Cottage. It is likely from the 18th century, with some alterations made in the 19th century. The barn is constructed from stone rubble with quoins and features slate roofs, forming an L-plan layout.
The short north-west wing includes a lean-to cow house and a barn entrance accessed by a ramp on the north-west side. The north-east gable end has square ventilation holes and ventilation slots at a lower level. On the south-east side, there is a segmental-headed entrance with a brick arch and a winnowing door, both equipped with pivoted doors.
The south-west wing has drip courses on both sides. The north-east side features two entrances, one of which is now blocked, along with two windows and two loading doors that have brick segmental arches. There are also ventilation holes present. The south-east gable end includes a dovecote and a later lean-to outbuilding. The south-west elevation has ventilation holes and inserted windows.
