Description

This is a barn located to the north of Beck Side Farm, dating from the 18th or early 19th century. It is constructed of stone rubble, with coursed stone at the western end and a slate roof. The barn features six bays and has a lower level at the eastern end due to the slope of the ground. The south elevation projects forward to the east of the central barn doors and includes an outshut under a lean-to roof, which has rock-faced quoins and two entrances. There is an entrance at the western end. The north elevation also projects forward to the east of the central winnowing door and has ventilating slots. The east gable end contains entrances for a cow house. Inside, there are three tie beam and strut trusses, along with two kingpost trusses that have struts.
