Description

High Hallbeck Cottage is a house, likely dating from the early 18th century. It is constructed of stone rubble, with some areas rendered with roughcast, and has a slate roof, with the lower sections of the roof covered in stone slate. The house has two storeys and two bays, arranged around a central entrance. A dripcourse runs above the ground floor windows. The windows are sash windows with vertical glazing bars. A gabled porch shelters a five-fielded-panel door, with the upper two panels glazed and the lower panel solid. Chimneys are situated in gable ends. At the rear is a gabled wing and a lean-to outshut. The fenestration is varied, including windows with fixed small-paned glazing and opening lights. The interior has not been inspected, but is believed to contain a staircase with turned balusters, and blocked wooden mullioned windows.
