Description

Middleton Bridge is a public road bridge over the River Rawthey, likely built in the 17th century and altered in 1911. It is constructed from mixed random rubble and features one wide segmental arch with rubble voussoirs, a stone slate archband, and an upper layer of voussoirs at the center. The bridge has rebuilt parapets with rounded coping, each containing a square refuge that is corbelled out in the center, which was added during the 1911 alterations. The ends of the parapets are splayed outwards.
