Description

Bridge End and the attached barn is a house and barn combination, likely built in the early 18th century for the house and later in the 18th century for the barn. The structure features coursed rubble with quoins and slate roofs. The house is two storeys high with two bays, a ground floor drip course, and windows that have flat arches and are sashed with vertical glazing bars; the first floor has small paired sashes. The entrance includes a gabled porch with a segmental arch and a panelled door. There is a gable-end stack and an end lean-to outshut. The barn to the west is taller and has three round-headed openings with ashlar surrounds on the ground floor and two on the first floor, which also features square ventilation holes. There is an inserted entrance and a winnowing door, along with a loading door to the left. A gable-end stack is located next to the house, and the return side has two cow house doors flanking a light, with cow house partitions inside.
