Description
Keeper's Cottage is a farmhouse dating from the mid-18th century, with some alterations made in the 20th century. It is constructed of slobbered square rubble with millstone grit dressings and has a slate roof. The building features a central staircase plan and stands two storeys high with three bays. The central entrance has a plain surround and an early 20th-century door. There are two ground floor windows and two upper floor windows on the outer sides, each consisting of four lights, while the central upper floor window has two lights. All windows have flat faced mullions and moulded surrounds, with 20th-century casements and fixed lights, as well as a dripstone above the ground floor windows. The gable ends have coping, and there are ridge stacks. The left-hand return side includes an upper floor two-light flat faced mullioned window with a moulded surround and 20th-century casements, along with two similar windows at the rear—one with two lights and the other with four lights.
