Description
Crooks Farmhouse is a farmhouse built in the late 18th century, with origins dating back to the 17th century and some alterations made in the 19th century. It is constructed from squared limestone rubble with millstone grit dressings and has a slate roof. The building features a central staircase plan and stands two storeys tall with a double fronted design. The central entrance has a plain surround and a plank door. There are two windows on each storey, all of which are three-light chamfered mullioned windows with two-pane casements and fixed lights. Mid-19th century square eaves modillions are present. The farmhouse has gable end and right-of-centre ridge stacks. On the left-hand return, there is a former 17th-century two-light chamfered mullioned window in the upper floor, although the mullion is now missing. The farmhouse is included for its group value.
