Description
Bridge End and Hannam Cottage is a pair of former cottages that were originally one house, dating from the late 17th century, with alterations made in the mid-19th century and 20th century. The building is constructed of limewashed rubble and features a stone slate roof. Each cottage has a gabled slate hood over its entrance, which consists of plank doors. Hannam Cottage includes an additional right-hand plank door with a projecting slate lintel.
There are three ground floor windows and four upper floor windows, all of which are sash windows with glazing bars. The left-hand bay of Bridge End is a mid-19th century addition, characterized by large windows and eaves that have square modillions. The left-hand gable end features ridge stacks located left of centre, centre, and right of centre, with the left-hand stack dating from around 1970.
Inside, the right-hand room of Bridge End contains two chamfered spine beams with run-out stops that extend through the party wall to Hannam. The building is included for its group value.
