Description

Milestone located approximately 10 metres west of Hippins on the north side of the road in Dentdale. This milestone dates from the early to mid 19th century and is made of dressed sandstone, which has been painted white. It features a square plinth with chamfered corners and a semicircular shaft that is inscribed with "S / 5" and has a rounded top. This milestone is part of a series of 11 milestones in this parish.
