Description

Gawthrop Villa is a small house, likely built in the mid-19th century, with some alterations. It features white-painted roughly-coursed rubble and a stone slate roof. The building has a single-depth, double-fronted plan and stands two storeys tall with two symmetrical windows. The central doorway has a part-glazed door and is protected by a small open-fronted gabled wooden porch. The ground floor has rectangular windows with altered glazing, including arched lower lights and two-light openings above. There are small square 4-pane sash windows above. The house has paired gutter brackets and gable chimneys. It is included for its group value with Brookside located opposite.
