Description
Runham Windpump is a late 19th-century drainage windpump located at TG 47200988. It features a three-storey tapering tower made of tarred brick, which has a battered base and is raised below the curb. The structure includes a segmental arched doorway and two opposing first-floor windows, both topped with segmental heads. The windpump has an aluminium cap that rests on the original cap frame. Inside, there is a fanstage with a wire wheel, carrier, capstan, and lower drive shaft. The windpump is equipped with a cast iron windshaft, brakewheel, wallower, pitwheel, and crownwheel, as well as a timber upright shaft. An external turbine pump is also present.
