Description
Heigham Holmes Windpump is a mid-19th century windpump featuring a tapering circular brick tower that stands four stories tall. The structure has one window opening on both the first and second floors, along with two opposing segmental-headed entrance doors. It is equipped with two stocks, four clamps, and the remains of eight bay patent sails and striking gear. The windpump includes a cap frame, worm hangers, and a worm, as well as a complete set of track and centering wheels, track, and rack. There are also remains of the fanstage, fan tackle, and fan, along with a Y wheel and carrier. The windshaft is made of cast iron, and there is a two-section square timber upright shaft with chamfered edges. Additionally, it features a cast iron crownwheel and a bevel wheel connected to a cast iron horizontal shaft, with an internal turbine housed in a casing.
