Description
Martham Mill is a drainage windpump built in 1908 by Dan England. It features a four-storey circular tapering brick tower with a timber cap. The south side has a 20th-century door, and each floor has 20th-century windows that alternate around the tower. The cap is boat-shaped and weatherboarded, complete with a petticoat. The mill includes a gallery, fan cradle, and worm gear. It has been converted for domestic use, with a water tank inserted in the cap. The upright shaft and crown wheel remain, and it was originally used to drive a turbine pump.
