Description
Common Farmhouse is a mid-18th century farmhouse located on Ruggs Lane in Burgh St. Margaret. The building is constructed of brick and has a thatched roof. The west front features one storey and a dormer attic, with a central door that has a moulded surround, now adjacent to a 20th-century greenhouse. To the right of the door is a horned tripartite sash window, and to the left is a smaller, similar sash window. The gabled roof has two gabled dormers, both fitted with casement windows, and there is a ridge stack positioned to the right of the center.
At the rear, there is an outshut to the left, which is covered by a thatched catslide roof. To the right of this outshut, there are two casement windows and a door, one of which is an 18th-century window. Above the outshut, there is another gabled dormer, and there is an additional stack located at the north gable end, which is internal.
