Description

The barn at Grange Farm is a mid-18th century structure made of brick with a thatched roof. The brickwork is laid in English bond. The west side features double timber doors positioned to the right of center, which rise into the thatching above. Flanking the doors are two slit ventilation lights on each side. The barn has a gabled roof with gable heads that exhibit tumbling and include diamond honeycomb ventilation panels at the apexes, supported by kneelers. The east side is obscured by continuous pantiled outshuts. The roof structure consists of tie beams, two tiers of taper-tenoned butt purlins, and collars. Grange farmhouse, located nearby, is not listed.
