Description
The Shrubbery is a house located on Rollesby Road in Burgh St. Margaret, dating from the mid-18th century with a rear cross wing and a facade block from around 1820. The building is constructed of colourwashed brick and features roofs made of black glazed pantiles. The south front has two storeys and is composed of three bays. It includes a central panelled door beneath a five-vaned fanlight, with a doorcase supported by fluted columns set in antis that hold up an arched hood. The facade also has sash windows with glazing bars, all set beneath gauged skewback arches. The roof is gabled and has internal end stacks, with the eastern stack having been rebuilt. The mid-18th century cross wing is a single storey with a dormer attic, and the west side is illuminated by one casement window and a gabled dormer. The gabled roof features a central ridge stack, while the east side has a door and a tripartite horned sash window beneath a segmental arch.
