Description

This barn, located 15 meters northeast of Church Farmhouse, dates from the late 18th century. It is constructed of brick and features a thatched roof. The west side has a plinth course and four pilaster buttresses that create three recessed panels. In the center, there are full-height double timber doors, with a louvred window to the right beneath a segmental arch and a slit ventilation light to the left. A built-out transeptal outshut to the north, covered by a catslide roof, is large enough to be considered an additional bay. The barn has a gabled roof that is hipped over the outshut, supported by ties on straight braces that drop to wall posts. Queen struts rise to the lower of two tiers of staggered butt purlins, with collars.
