Description
The Old Rectory is a house that has been divided into two properties. It features a late 18th-century rear wing with an early 19th-century block attached to the south. The building is constructed of brick, with the south facade made of gault brick, and has a roof covered in concrete tiles. The elegant two-storey south front has five bays, with sash windows that include glazing bars and gauged skewback arches. The central ground floor window has been blocked. The west front serves as the entrance side, featuring a 20th-century door and doorcase in a Georgian style, along with a dentil eaves cornice. The roof is hipped, with stacks on both the east and west slopes. The rear of the 19th-century block has three window bays, with Diocletian windows that have sashes and gauged arches, although the central window is damaged. The first floor features round-headed windows, and the eastern half of this facade is colourwashed. To the northeast, there is a two-storey, three-bay 18th-century wing made of whitewashed bricks and covered with corrugated roof tiles. The ground floor has 20th-century casements and a door, while the first floor features 18th-century casements. This wing also has a hipped roof with two gault brick stacks.
